The thermal insoles are available in transparent or coloured foil and are filled with sodium acetate and an activator.
By bending the activator rod, a chemical reaction is created, whereby the sodium acetate (non-toxic) heats up and automatically heats up to approx. 50-55 °C within seconds. The aggregate state changes from liquid to solid.
